Does your team-mate get the message?

Teamtastic now has Mates and Private Messages. You can add any Teamtastic member to your Mates list.

Mates are not just your team-mates, they're your mates in any team across the site. Your Mates list is similar to a friends list on sites like MySpace. The Mates list shows on your user profile page, and lets you see at a glance what your mates have been doing on Teamtastic. Of course you can browse from your mate to their list to see what connections they have.

The new Private message feature complements your Mates list. You can use private messages in a similar way to email - sending private messages between your mates, creating folders and organising discussions that you don't want to post in your team's forums.

For your privacy you can choose who can send you private messages. By default only people in your mates list can send you messages but you can change this so that any Teamtastic member can send you a message. You can also opt-out completely from private messages. All these settings are on your user account page.
