March Madness & Mayhem Tournament 3/19-20, 2005
The "Wayne Seven" played and represented the team well. They had an awesome weekend and led the Grizzlies to their first ever tournament trophy. The Ruggers pictured that made the trip were Adam Bittler, Rick Burgess, Tony Wheeler, Brad Canaan and "Boner" Baer. Those not picture but also made the trip were Lance Bressman and "Diva" Tate. The Grizzlies had an awesome time both on and off the pitch. Their motto... "what happens in Wayne, stays in Wayne".
Mesa State 10/3, 2004
Adam Bittler Adam's continued improvement in open field play has brought him to a new, more commanding level. His two tries against Mesa State helped propel the team to its most decisive win of the season to date. Adam's experience from the Summer Seven's league has consistently show itself in open field play. For example, being aware of quick taps has enabled Adam's knowledge and leadership to shine through by speeding up the flow of the game and open up the grizzlies attacking game. Even when he didn't pass it, he ran directly over the opposition, forcing them to respect not only his superb passing skills, or his definitive voice, but his running ability. Adam's return to "The Front Row" will no doubt be a valuable decision as his experience and tenacity will carry A.S.C.'s scrums back to its championship level.
Western State 9/26, 2004
Aaron Webster Aaron just may be this team's hidden savor. He was an unexpected addition to the lineup but a key one nonetheless. Aaron has played an important role in being a knowledgeable and strong back line player. His play carried the team to an impressive win this weekend scoring three tries. Aaron is one of the most well-rounded players this young team has put on the pitch. He is able to kick, tackle and run all over the opposition. The team looks forward to seeing his play continue.
NMHU Vatos 9/18, 2004
Rick Burgess Rick is an exciting young player. He has stepped up to the plate and has become an important entity to our back line. Rick runs with an elusiveness and awareness that has propelled him to one of the teams top backs. He carried the ball well, scoring tries, and made crucial decisions and tackles that keep the team in the game. Despite the close loss, Rick was the shining star of the weekend.
Jackalope Tournament 9/11-9/12, 2004
Rob Henriksen Rob had the best weekend of his young and promising career . Though he was thrown into not only a new but tough and important position, he was able to flourish and lead the team. Rob made the tackles he needed to while being able distribute the ball well throughout the offense. He has opened eyes and impressed those around him with his aggressiveness, stability and toughness. Not too mention scoring a try. It was a great performance to the opening weekend. [ tags: general discussion ]
